Dhaka University(DU) authority has celebrated 91th birth anniversary of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib on Saturday with great enthusiasm.
DU Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Akteruzzaman has paid deep respect offering floral tribute to Sculpture of Bangamata at Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall of the university. The hall authority also arranged prayer ceremony.
"Dhaka University has taken step to launch "Bagamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Center for women, gender and policy studies" to establish empowered and educated women spreading her autobiography and thought. The center turn to epicenter of study and research," said DU VC.
Paying deep respect DU VC Prof Dr Akteruzzaman also said, "Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib was the source of all inspiration of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. She provided advice, confidence and inspiration to Bangabandhu in his struggling life.
Her devotion, sacrifice, courage, patience in every single movement of Bangali nation and specially in liberation war in the history of Bangladesh."
The hall Provost Prof Dr Zakia Parveen, acting register of the university Prabir Kumar Sarker, house tutors on the hall were present there.
