DU, JU students die of dengue

Two students of Dhaka University and Jahangirnagar University died of dengue.Jahangirnagar University first-year student of pharmacy, U Khein Nu, died on the way of Chittagong from Cox’s Bazar on Saturday afternoon and Dhaka University finance student Firoz Kabir died at Square Hospital in Dhaka on Friday night.

U Khein, hailing from Cox’s Bazar, was a resident of Pritilata Hall of Jahangirnagar University and Firoz Kabir hailing from Thakurgaon was a resident of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall at Dhaka University.U Khein’s father Mong Ba Ang said, ‘Khein was infected by dengue on July 17 at her university and later she came home on July 20, then we admitted her to Cox’s General Hospital.’

‘This Saturday afternoon, the on-duty doctor at the hospital suggested us to take her to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital but on the way of Chittagong she was died Amirabad at around 5:00pm,’ said the father, reports New Age correspondent at Jahangirnagar University.

Pritilata Hall provost Ayesha Siddika also the confirmed her death and said they admitted her to hospital with serious fever a few days ago, later the university medical centre referred her to the Enam Medical collage as her condition deteriorated.The provost said she was not informed of her dengue infection as the university medical centre could not identify it.The mortal remains of Khein were cremated at the central crematorium of Cox’s Bazar in the evening.
