DU IBA wins in int’l debate competition

The Institute of Bossiness Administration (IBA) of Dhaka University on Saturday was crowned the champion of the TIB-JUDO Eminence International-2021.  

The Jahangirnagar University (JU) Debate Organisation with the collaboration of the Federal Ministry for The Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety, Germany and Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) organized the contest virtually this year amid the Covid-19 pandemic.  

‘IBA-DU A’, a team from IBA-DU Debate, defended the notion  ‘Assuming Exclusivity This House will mandate developed countries to fund climate-vulnerable countries for ecosystem-based adaptation instead of fossil fuel technologies’, while 3 teams from India,  Delhi University,  Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, National Law Institute University, Bhopal altercate against them.  

Sadid Jubayer Murshed and Rifayat Zafeer Wafee from the champion team secured the title of debater of the final and debater of the tournament respectively.

Over 150 debaters from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Japan, Australia, Canada, Scotland, South Africa, Cameron, Kenya, Ghana, Uganda and Nigeria participated on this inter-university level competition.

Executive director of TIB Iftekharuzzaman announced the champion team, debater of the final and debater of the tournament on a virtual closing session of the tournament.

Member of the parliament Saber Hossain Chowdhury was present as the chief guest and JU treasurer Prof. Manzurul Haque, team leader of FAO in Bangladesh Kristofer Johnson, JUDO moderator Prof. ATM Atiqur Rahman among others were present as special guests.
