Dhaka University Friends Alumni 95-96 on Tuesday distributed Eid gift among members from third gender community at Central Shaheed Minar in the city, said a press release.
It was an initiative of sharing the Eid joy with disadvantaged peoples.
President of Friends Alumni 95-96 Dr Mahbub Litu, who is also the Assistant Proctor of Dhaka University, presided over the distribution program .
Among others, Shahinur Rahman Shahin, senior officer of Prime Minister Office , Asad Al Sayem ,Finance Secretary, Kazi Musfika Rita ,Secretary General of Friends Alumni 95-96, M.W.A.Farhad Tuhin, Assistant Director of Bangladesh Public Service Commission, Shafaet Hossen Sabuj, Deputy Secretary of Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs were present on the occasion.
Friends Alumni 95-96 distributed Eid Bazar containing 20 items including Polao Rice, Semai, Suger etc, and cash Taka. Leaders of the Friends Alumni 95-96 hoped that such initiatives would be supportive to peoples from third gender who are in a great fix due to this corona pandemic.
Such initiatives will be continued from Friends Alumni 95-96. As part of the corona assistance program, Dhaka University Friends Alumni 95-96 has formed a Corona Support Committee, and this committee will take further initiatives to provide assistance to peoples who are in a need, said Dr Litu.
