A female student of Dhaka University (DU) was found dead at her Fuller Road residence in the varsity's residential area on early Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Adrita Binte Mosharraf, 21, daughter of the Management Department head Prof Mosharaff Hossain. She was the first year student of the same department.
Adrita resided with her family on the third floor of residential building number 19 on the DU campus. Family sources said, Adrita committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan early Sunday. Getting her body hanging, they informed the police.Being informed, Shahbag Police Station's Officer-in-Charge Mostazirur Rahman and his team promptly rushed to the spot and recovered the body.
The body was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctor declared her dead.
