The Dhaka University's (DU) disciplinary board expelled 12 students permanently for their involvement in admission test forgery and digital hype on Sunday.

The authorities have also suspended 151 students of the university and its affiliated colleges and institutions on different terms for their involvement in anti-disciplinary activities too.

The Disciplinary Board of the university took the decision at a meeting chaired by University Vice-chancellor Prof Akhtaruzzaman on Sunday evening, confirmed DU Public Relations Officer Mahmood Alam.

The students were enrolled in the university through fraudulent means in the academic sessions of 2013-14 and 2016-17.

Earlier on August 6, 2019, the DU authorities suspended 69 students for adopting means of cheating in admission tests.
