The Dhaka University (DU) undergraduate program’s admission exam 2023–2024 for the Arts, Law, and Social Science units took place on Friday. At least 38 candidates are contesting for one seat this time in the arts, law, and social science unit.
The test is taking place in eight of the nation’s divisional cities, including Dhaka. Exam time is set from 11 am to 12:30 pm.
DU’s admission this year is starting with this exam. Then the admission test for business education (general knowledge and drawing) will be held on February 24, with science on March 1 and the arts unit on March 9.
Applicants can download admission test admit cards from the Dhaka University website from February 8 until one hour before the examination of each unit.
The total seats in the Arts, Law, and Social Science units are 2,934. Against this, 1 lakh, 12 thousand, and 225 students have applied this time. As such, 38 candidates will fight for one seat in this unit.
On December 18, the online application process for the Dhaka
University admission test started. The application fee was 1 thousand 50 taka. Some 2 lakh 79 thousand 2 people applied through four units against 5 thousand 965 seats to participate in the admission test.
From the academic year 2022–23, Dhaka University is conducting admission tests under four units. The units are the Arts, Law, and Social Science Unit, Science Unit, Business Education Unit, and Fine Arts Unit.
Until the previous academic year, there were five units. The units were then named A, B, C, D, and F. In addition to this, the examination is named the Undergraduate Program Admission Test. Earlier, this exam was called the Bachelor (Honours) First Year Admission Test.
Like the last time, this time also in the units other than the fine arts unit, there will be multiple choices of 60 marks and a written examination of 40 marks. A 40-mark multiple-choice and 60-mark drawing test will be conducted only in the fine arts unit examination.
The fine arts unit will have 30 minutes for multiple-choice tests and 60 minutes for written tests. Other units will have 45 minutes for multiple-choice tests and 45 minutes for written tests.
Students will be evaluated based on a total of 120 marks on the admissions test. Out of which, 100 marks will be based on the admission test and 20 marks will be based on the results of the secondary or equivalent and higher secondary or equivalent examinations.
