Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) continued to break their previous records with all three indices and market-cap reached to new highs.

Besides, stocks extended their rally for the nine straight weeks as investors continued to put fresh funds into stocks despite virus worries.

DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up 61.23 points or 0.91 percent to close at 6,760.62.

It stood a record high of 6787.16 points on Tuesday, highest since its inception more than eight years back on 27 January 2013. It added 708 points in the past nine consecutive weeks.

Market experts said stocks continued making a new record after breaking previous one as investors are putting fresh funds on stocks amid high expectations among investors.

Besides, the regulatory decision to keep the market open during the lockdown has been taken positively and pushed the market up, they added.

They mentioned that many market-supportive measures including removal of the floor price restriction from all listed securities, lower returns from the money market, budgetary measures and several regulatory reforms to build a vibrant capital market has kept the market afloat.

However, the DSE30 Index, comprising blue chips, decreased 4.03 points to close at 2,423.55 and the DSE Shariah Index (DSES) went up 2.30 points to close at 1,461.34.
