DScE Entrepreneurial Economists Club gets new committee

Mohammad Jamal Hussain has been made president and Jishan Rahman general secretary of the Entrepreneurial Economists Club of the Dhaka School of Economics (DScE).

The new committee of the club was announced in a press release issued on Sunday after its annual general meeting.

According to the release, Mohammad Faizul Alam Siddiqui has been made vice-president-one, Roksana Akhter vice-president-two and Samira Binte Saif treasurer.

The other office-bearers are Mahe Alam Sarwar (joint secretary), Mohammad Farhadul Islam Bhuiyan (publicity secretary) and Shamim Ahmad, Sharafat Hossain, Shilpi Rani Dutta, Mohammad Abdus Salam, Parimal Saha, Jakir Hossain and Santunu Dutta (executive members).

The new committee will take over on December 12.

Entrepreneurial Economics Programme Coordinator Professor Dr Muhammad Mahboob Ali, who is one of the country’s leading economists and IT experts, Club Moderator Rehana Parveen and Club Convener Dr Sara Tasnim congratulated the new committee.

Prof Muhammad Mahboob Ali expressed the hope that the new committee would contribute to the expansion of entreprenruial education and making society knowledge-based and innovative for social upliftment.

He said the richer section of the country should join hands with the Dhaka School of Economics, a constituent institution of the University of Dhaka, to help establish economic incubators which is a part of its course curricula starting from the undergraduate of entreprenruial economics programme to post-graduate diploma in enterprise development and master of entreprenruship economics programme.

He expressed the hope that the new committee would actively work in this regard.
