DSCC suffers Tk 10cr damages in arson attacks

The financial damages of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) is estimated at around Tk10 crore in the arson attack during the recent violence centring the quota reform movement.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the DSCC condemned the arson attack on public properties launched by miscreants saying people were the owner of public properties.

The organized miscreants engaged in massive destructions of public properties for hindering the development spree of the country, the statement read.   

Such violent activities of anti-liberation forces were unacceptable, it said. In fact, through these destructions, the nefarious attempt and conspiracy to overthrow the democratically elected government has been clearly visible to the countrymen. 

The DSCC strongly protested such planned destructive activities carried out by the miscreants. 

According to the statement, the DSCC urged relevant organizations to identify the culprits for taking stern actions against them. 

In the recent violence, the attackers set fire to three trucks and toll plazas of Mayor Hanif Fly over and vandalized three vehicles and other establishments of the DSCC.
