DSCC fines 3 mosquito coil factories

Three mobile courts of Dhaka South City Corporation fined three mosquito coil factories for illegally evicting a 6-storey building and operating the factory without clearance. 

The building was under construction at Digu Babu Lane adjacent to Mitford Hospital. On Tuesday, DSCC’s property officer and executive magistrate Mohammad Muniruzzaman and the executive magistrates Tanjila Kabir Tropa and AH Irfan Uddin Ahmed conducted the mobile courts.

The mobile court headed by DSCC's property officer and executive magistrate Mohammad Muniruzzaman began eviction in the illegal extension of the building.

The corporation's executive magistrates Tanzila Kabir Trapa and AH Irfan Uddin Ahmed also conducted raids against the mosquito coil factory.

A mobile court headed by the executive magistrate Tanjila Kabir Tripa visited the mosquito coil factory in Baniyarbagh, Matuail, and Jayabari area ofward 7. 

He filed two cases against the two mosquito coil factories; one for not having the required clearance at the time and secondly for operating the mosquito coil factory. Tk. 1lakh worth of fine was imposed. 

Executive magistrate AH Irfan Uddin Ahmed, conducted a raid in a mosquito coil factory called 'RM' in ward no. 65. Authorities were fined Tk 30,000 for failing to produce proper factory management documents.

Regarding the raid, Executive Magistrate Tanjila Kabir Tripa said, "Although mosquito coils were being produced in the factories, they could not show many clearances related to the operation of the factory. Two factories have been fined for operating without license."
