DSCC ‘combing operation’ launched to tackle dengue

The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has launched a three-day ‘combing operation’ at its 25 wards to destroy Aedes mosquitoes and its breeding grounds in order to tackle dengue situation.

Md Mizanur Rahman, chief executive officer (CEO) of Dhaka South City Corporation; inaugurated the campaign at on Tuesday morning (July 4) at ward no 41.

On the first day of the campaign, Aedes mosquito larvae were found inside and around the boundary of several houses and establishment. Then DSCC team warned the owners of those houses and establishments. The DSCC team fined Tk 20,000 to an owner of an under-construction building as Aedes larvae was found inside his house.

Dr Fazle Shamsul Kabir, chief health officer of the city corporation; Mohammad Sakhawat Hossain Sarkar, zonal executive officer of zone-5 of DSCC; and Sarwar Hasan Alo, councilor of ward no 41; were present at the time, among others.
