BGB arrested an infamous drug cartel from Ukhia of Cox's Bazar and recovered one lakh Yaba from his possession in the early hours of Wednesday.
Lieutenant Colonel Jasim Uddin, Commander of BGB, 64 battallion of Ukhia informed a special patrol team of BGB of Heikong BOP tried to stop a suspiciousTeknaf bound motorbike rider at the checkpost but the motorbike rider tried to escape with the vehicle when the on-duty BGB members hit him with a bamboo. As a result, motorbike rider Ikram (29) fell on the spot. By checking the bag of Ikram, BGB members recovered 100,000 pieces of Burmese Yaba.
Arrested Ikram is son of Rabiul Hossain of Hrila union under Teknaf Upazila. A case has been filed in this connection and the seized Yaba and arrested Ikram have been handed over to Teknaf Police Station.
