Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel in Jhenaidah have detained a drug peddlers and seized a total of 155 bottles of contra banned phensedyl syrup in separate drives. The arrested was Raju Mia, 28, son of late Arman Mandal of Matila village in bordering Moheshpur upazila.
BGB 58 battalion assistant director Nazrul Islam Khan said BG&B personnel of Matila border observation pharee (BOP) Habilder Nasir Uddin along with his associates conducted a drive near the mosque t Matila village, about 150 yards in Bangladesh territory in the early hours of Friday.
The personnel had arrested the drug peddler Raju Mia with 104 bottles of contra banned phensedyl syrup from his possession.
In separate drive at Andulbaria village of Jibannagar, the border guards of BGB Khalishpur headquarters Nayek Ali Akbar have seized 47 bottles of the contra banned while the owner of the same was hiding.
The arrested was handed over to Moheshpur thana police and the seized contra banned was deposited with the customs authority, BGB BGB 58 battalion assistant director said.
