The Walton Smart Fridge-DRU six-a-side Media Cup Football Tournament under the auspices of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) will begin at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali Handball Stadium in the city on March 15.
A total of 48 teams from different media houses, including print, electronic and online media houses will initially take part in the first phase on the knockout basis. The match will be held on March 24.
The champion team will be awarded with cash money of Tk 40,000 while the runners-up team will get Tk 20,000 along with trophies. Each team will receive cash Tk 1,000 as match fee.
To brief about the side Media Cup Football Tournament, a press conference was held at DRU on Monday (March 9). DRU’s sports secretary Mujibur Rahman briefed details about the tournament.
DRU president Rafiqul Islam Azad, general secretary Reaz Chowdhury and executive director of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar were also present at the time.
