A pickup driver was killed and five people were injured in a head-on collision between a pickup and a bus at Bhatar Amatla area at Bagharpara upazila of Jashore on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Arifur Rahman, 28, of Satkhira.
The injured were rescued and admitted to Jashore General Hospital. The condition of one of them is critical.
Injured Shaon and Kamrul said they were going to Sreepur in Magura with fish by a pickup from Satkhira.
When they reached Bhatar Amtala area, the accident took place. The pickup driver died on the spot.
Later, locals and fire service personnel rescued and admitted them to the hospital.
