The administration of Santhia on Thursday started drive to stop drying of straw on different roads under Sathia in Pabna.
In recent times, the administration noticed the problems and suffering of the people due to drying straw on the road in the social media and different newspapers.
Abdul Halim, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Santhia, led the drive on Thursday. On this day, he conducted the drive on Tulat Ichhamati Road and Sharisha-Sonatala Road under Karmaja Union of the upazila.
UNO Abdul Halim said that the removal operations will be continued to keep the road safe. Chairmen of every union in the upazila are instructed in this regard. He sought cooperation from them. In another operation, he fined Delwar Hossain, a shopkeeper, five thousand taka for keeping adulterated ghee in his shop at Karmja Bazar at Santhia. He said the drive will be continued in the market to stop selling of 52 products banned by the High Court.
