Eleven coronavirus patients have been detected in Bangladesh in two weeks till March 18 yesterday.
Coronavirus panic has spread in Bangladesh just as severely as in other countries. In the meantime, the government has declared closing down of all education institutions. The cinema halls are also closed. Many cinema releases have been postponed too. Cinema shooting has also stopped. However, the scene of dramas is quite different. Shooting is going on regularly.
Coronavirus infections are becoming increasingly frightening. The question why the drama shooting is still going on has been raised. The matter has been in discussion for several days. But the drama organizations are not paying heed to any of this.
The search shows that the shooting of various dramas is still going on in various places including Uttara, Pubail, Gazipur, Savar, Ashulia, Srimongol and other parts of the country. It is also learned that around 8 units are shooting on a daily basis each unit containing around 30 to 40 people.
In cinema industry most of t0he shootings have been stopped due to awareness of the virus. But the shooting of dramas is still going on. However, will the shooting continue even after facing such an epidemic? Or will there be any new announcement about the shooting of the dramas?
When contacted Obhinoy Shilpi Shongho’s general secretary Ahsan Habib Nasim, he said he also was taking part in shooting.
“Coronavirus has impacted the world. We too should be careful. Since no official announcement has been made, some drama shooting is underway. Many people work here. There is a liability about their livelihood. However, those who do not want to work at this time will not be forced. We haven't officially decided to stop the shooting yet,” he said.
Meanwhile, Salahuddin Lavlu, president of the Directors’ Guild, said, “It is very important for us to be aware of this. No announcement has been received from our organisation on this topic yet. However, today we will be meeting on this issue. At this point we hope to come to a decision on whether to stop shooting. However, I have been personally aware of this, due to which I have not been shooting for a while. But this awareness needs to be in everyone. But since we are going to sit in the meeting, we will make a declaration soon.”
