The rules of the much-talked-about ‘Land Crime Prevention and Remedy Act, 2023’ are going to be effective soon as the Ministry of Land has approved the draft Rules titled ‘Land Crime Prevention and Remedy Rules, 2023’.
Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury approved the draft of ‘Land Crime Prevention and Remedy Rules, 2023’ on Sunday (December 24, 2023).
The approval came during a meeting titled ‘Informing about the Rules of Land Crime Prevention and Remedy Act’ held in the conference room of the ministry.
Land Secretary Md. Khalilur Rahman and other officials from the ministry were present at the meeting.
In his speech, Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury expressed gratitude to all involved parties for the rapid formulation of the draft of the Land Crime Prevention and Remedy Rules, 2023’.
The draft rules will now be placed at the inter-ministerial meeting. Following the final approval by the cabinet, the rules will come into effect.
The Ministry of Land has prepared the draft Rules as per the newly enacted land law in a bid to ease the legal proceedings regarding the land-related crimes.
The ‘Land Crime Prevention and Remedy Act, 2023’ was passed in the Jatiya Sangsad on September 12 this year to deal with various types of crimes related to land in the country. Soon after enactment of the law, the government began working on fresh Rules as per the law.
