Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury’s wife and son have also tested positive for the coronavirus, reports UNB.

Dr Zafrullah, who was tested COVID-19 positive on May 24, told the media on Monday afternoon that he was now doing well.
“I felt breathing problem yesterday but today I am feeling better,” he said.

He said that his wife and son, who are also suffering from the infection, were taking treatment at home.
“My son’s condition is stable and better but wife’s temperature is fluctuating,” he said.

Dr Zafrullah said his wife Shirin Parveen Haque and son Barish Hasan Chowdhury were tested with the same Rapid Dot Blot kit developed by Gonoshasthaya Kendra at its laboratory, and both were found positive for the virus.

“My wife has been suffering from coughing and fever and she received treatment at the hospital on Sunday.
However, his son has been in isolation at their Dhanmondi residence as he has no complication.

Zafrullah, a freedom fighter, said his fever has subsided, but he is still suffering from a cough and breathing problems.
He said he has been given oxygen support at the Gonoshasthaya Kendra hospital as his saturation level is falling.
Zafrullah urged all to pray for him and his family members so that they can recover fast.

The freedom fighter underwent coronavirus test with the kit developed by Gonoshasthaya which found him to be positive on May 25. Four days later, a RT-PCR test at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) also found him positive for coronavirus.
