The people of the region are elated about the news of the establishment of Dr Wazed Ali Mia Agricultural University in the district headquarters of Natore. They are overjoyed at this news. They shared sweets with each other and expressed their happiness.
Natore-2 MP Shafiqul Islam Shimul confirmed the establishment of Dr Wazed Ali Mia Agricultural University at Natore Sadar. He said a letter from the Ministry of Education has been sent to the University Grants Commission (UGC).
He has spoken to the Prime Minister's Office, Ministry of Education, UGC and other concerned departments. They all agreed that since Natore is the district headquarters, Dr Wazed Ali Mia Agricultural University will be established there.
People from all walks of life, including ordinary people, farmers, news workers, civil society representatives, government and private teachers, politicians and people's representatives, have long been demanding the establishment of an agricultural university in Natore as an agricultural district.
Ratna Ahmed, a Member of Parliament for the Naogaon reserved constituency in Natore, said, “I also demanded the establishment of an agricultural university in Natore Sadar. If this demand is met, the expectations of the people of Natore will be met.” He expressed his gratitude and congratulations to the Prime Minister for this.
Natore-2 (Natore Sadar and Naldanga Upazila) MP Shafiqul Islam Shimul said, “I have been demanding the establishment of an agricultural university named after Dr. Wazed Ali Mia Agricultural University in Natore in the 10th and 11th Parliament.
Prioritizing his demand, the Ministry of Education recently sent a letter to the University Grants Commission to select the university and finalize the name of the university.”
