Dr Shahed Imran is working to secure nomination from the ruling Awami League for the by-election in Pabna-4 constituency slated for September 28.
Dr Shahed Imran, a doctor by training, is an active politician of Bangladesh Awami League.
He joined Bangladesh Chattra League as an active member in 1998 and since then he has been directly associated with all sorts of challenging movements as a frontline soldier of the ideology of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
He said, “I have been actively participating in all progressive movements of Awami League. I have been incessantly active in the ground with the slogan of change with a view to strengthening the hands of the Mother of Humanity, the gem of the country, the leader of the people Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.”
Dr Imran has so far provided health and other services to almost 3,500 Covid-19 patients in Pabna-4 constituency. He was tortured and oppressed by the leaders of BNP-Jamaat alliance when they were in power.His father, S M Nizam Uddin, was a valiant freedom fighter.
Dr Imran was also an organiser of Ganajagaran Mancha. Moreover, he is the moderator of the online group ‘We Are the Soldiers of Sheikh Hasina’. He is also a member of Swadhinata Chikitsok Parishad (SWACHIP). He is connected with various cultural organisations as well.

The last date for submission of nomination papers for Pabna-4 by-election is September 2. The papers will be scrutinised by Election Commission officials on September 3. The last date for withdrawal of candidacy is September 8.
