Former Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad celebrated his 101st birthday on Friday.
Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim extended his birthday wishes to Dr Mahathir in a Facebook post.
"Happy 101st birthday to Tun Dr Mahathir. May Allah continue to bless him with good health, a long life, and His abundant grace," Anwar wrote.
Dr Mahathir was born on July 10, 1925, in Alor Setar, the capital of Kedah state.
He served as Malaysia's prime minister twice. During his first tenure, he led the country for 22 consecutive years, from 1981 to 2003. He returned to office in 2018 and served until 2020.
In 2018, at the age of 92, Dr Mahathir made history by becoming the world's oldest serving head of government when he was sworn in as prime minister for a second time.
