Asaduzzaman Asad, former General Secretary of Rajshahi City Awami League and AL nominated candidate from Rajshahi-3(Paba-Mohanpur) constituency who is contesting with Boat symbol at an election campaign meeting held at Hatramchandrapur College Playground of Paba upazila on Tuesday has warned the voters not to respond to the call of conspirators, otherwise, he said, the image of Bangladesh will be tarnished.
While delivering his speech as the chief guest, Asaduzzaman Asad asked the conspirators,' Isn't your conscience ever raised the issue what role did USA play during the 1971? By holding the hands of Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh has stood upright by raising its head,' but he said, 'Those conspirators want to shed that head. Those who wanted to stop the distribution of textbooks among students on Jan-1, stop the widowed allowance and elderly parent's allowance, stop the stipends of students and to stop the healthcare facilities at the union levels should not pay heed to tarnish the image of the country.'
He further said, on January 1, your children returned smiling to their homes with new textbooks. You are surely delighted to watch their smiling faces. Behind your delight and the smiling faces of your children, there is relentless labour and diligence of Sheikh Hasina and you are reaping the benefit of the labour.
Asaduzzaman Asad, who is contesting with the symbol Boat, further said that no statesman in the world can say ' It is your children and it is my responsibility to educate them.' The money of the sub-stipend of the students is reached through the mobile phones of their mothers at the start of every month. Are those books and money reached to the children of only the leaders and activists of Awami League or all the students of the country? asked Asaduzzaman to the people of the constituency at the meeting and requested the voters to cast votes in favour of Boat. He also said to the voters that as Sheikh Hasina has honoured them with various gifts, so, by applying their conscience they should also cast their votes for 'Boat'.
Former President of Rajshahi district Awami League Asad further mentioned, in every Union at least 6,000 people received the benefits. Our elderly aged parents, pregnant mothers, sisters, and widowed sisters receive the allowances. The homeless people never thought that they would get a semi-pucca house on two kathas of land. Only Sheikh Hasina has the courage and honesty to bring back solvency among the poor, distressed people.
He said, 'Our female citizens have stood upright in society and we should be alert so that their heads are not once again down. What was the position of teachers of the Madrasha 15 years ago ?' he asked questions.' if any government in the past had built 2,000 pucca buildings in the Madrashas.' No one had done that in the past, so you should cast the votes of your conscience on the Boat.
To the religious-minded people, Asad asked,' Which statesmen had built 560 Model Mosques at a time? The Chief Imam of Masjide Nababi of Saudi Arabia at a huge meeting at the Showrawardi Uddyan recently mentioned,' Sheikh Hasina will lead the Muslim World.'
If the people of the constituency voted him to become a Member of Parliament, Asaduzzaman Asad, pledged to work to change the lot of the people of his area.
