It is rumored that you will be working in a movie called ‘Jaya’.
That’s actually the problem with the heading. It is actually a telefilm.
So was ‘Jaya’ supposed to be a web film?
No. It was not supposed to be a web film. By drama we mean 40/45 minutes in length. When it is more than that, we call it telefilm. It will be around 80/90 minutes in length.
Is it for television?
No. This is for an app. It’s supposed to be made for an app of live technology. But my fans keep asking me why it is called a film. Will I be in a film or not? In fact, what I understand by film is that, as is the case in foreign countries, it is done in a big way for the web. There is a budget like a film. But that does not happen in our country. There is no such thing as a song, dance or anything resembling a film. It’s actually what we are already doing but with a longer duration which we understand as telefilm.
When will the shooting start?
In fact, nothing has been fixed so far.
This is so much talk about you. You are doing or will be doing movies. When will we actually see you in a film?
I cannot say anything about that. The situation right now makes it very difficult to shoot a film. Even if the movie is shot, is it possible to release it now? Will people come and see the movie? Is this the time for people to gather? Now is not the time to actually make a movie. So I don’t know wheni will work in a film, I don’t know if I will work in movies at all or not. If I get a good story, I will definitely do a movie, but it will have to be on a proper story. The fans are a little confused, they got the news that I will work in a film. In fact fans are not going to get any film with me in it. It’s a drama.
What type of story does a film have to have for you to work in?
It’s actually like a drama, if the story is like the dramas and my character is a normal one then I am not interested to work in it. If I am to work in a film that will be released on a large scale in theatres, the story has to be a little stronger. I will work in movies only if there is a story that presents me in a character that no one has seen me in before.
Will it be a completely commercial movie?
I don’t really want to limit myself to commercials or art. The film, which has a beautiful story and theme, will be a good package with everything which will be able to entertain people. People get entertained by both art and commercial films. I want to do a film that has a very beautiful story and also presents me a chance to act well.
First choice to work with as a co-artist?
It’s the director’s call. I will work with whoever the director likes according to the character. If there is an actor who matches the character, I have no objection to work against him. However, every artiste wants to have a special role in their character. I am no exception. But every character in the movie is important.
