When almost everybody in Tollywood is voicing their opinion on political issues, which has also led to polarization of the Bengali film industry, actor Tanusree Chakraborty says that she does not bother about these facts and wants to keep her focus on work only. Several actors from the industry, who claim to be apolitical, have admitted that in the present situation, maintaining a neutral stand is becoming increasingly difficult. “Even the colour of your clothes at an event is leading people to determine your political ideology and inclination,” said an actor, who was in two minds about the colour he wears to a public event recently.

However, Tanusree is not unaffected by the scenario. She said that she wears whatever she wants to, and if someone is assuming it to symbolise something in particular, they are free to do it. “I have always believed that people should join politics only out of their love for the country and nothing else. So, if an actor joins politics, it is his or her personal decision. But people must not determine one’s political ideology on the basis of the clothes they wear,” she added.

On the work front, Tanusree is currently working on three projects, while the shoot of two other projects is already over. Talking about the projects, Tanusree said she has just completed dubbing for an upcoming film by Raja Chanda -- Pratighat – in which she is sharing the screen with Paayel Sarkar and Soham Chakraborty. The film deals with women trafficking. Tanusree has also worked in Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guha’s directorial, Samsara. This film also has an ensemble cast including Rahul Banerjee, Ritwick Chakraborty, Indrajit Roy, Sudipta Chakraborty, Samadarshi Dutta and Ambarish Bhattacharya, among others. There are two more projects, but Tanusree wishes to keep mum about both of them. Besides, she has worked in Srijit Mukherji’s much anticipated film, Gumnami. The shoot of the film has wrapped up.
