Dohar, Nawabganj’s roads become empty

On Thursday no crowd was seen in the local streets of Nawabganj and Dohar upazila of Dhaka. From early morning the streets were completely empty without any crowd and army men were patrolling.

To prevent corona virus people are not getting out of home. Except for police, journalist, couple of shopkeepers and some labor no one came out of their houses. In the Bazars there was not much sell. Most of the streets are empty without plying of vehicles.

From morning army men are working on the field level. They are helping with the administrative works as well as patrolling the streets. They are ensuring that there is no gathering among peoples and no one is getting out without emergency.

The administration instructed all the shop owners to keep their shops closed. Only a few Pharmacy and grocery shops were kept open. The mosques were requested to announce warning about coronavirus before Azan to create awareness among the people. All the social events have been prohibited as well.

Gatherings have been prohibited too. Army men are ensuring that 5 to 7 people do not gather at one place and people leaving home for emergency purposes maintain social distance.

 There were no public transports to be seen and some of the volunteer organizations are spraying disinfectant on the streets to prevent corona virus. Mostafa Kamal Officer-in-Charge of Nawabganj police station said that the police are working day and night to prevent corona virus. They are ensuring that people stays in their home and more than 1 person do not gather around.

Nawabganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Salauddin Manju said that the Government has taken strict actions to prevent corona virus and they are working to ensure that without any emergency no one gets out of their home.
