DoE holds awareness training on noise pollution

The Department of Environment (DoE) arranged a training for journalists on ‘Awareness about Noise Pollution and Our Responsibilities’ on Wednesday (June 9, 2021). 

The DoE arranged the training through virtual platform under the project ‘Integrated and Participatory Project to Control Noise Pollution’. The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has taken the project in a bid to reduce the noise pollution in Bangladesh, particularly in city areas, to a tolerable level.

Additional Director General of DoE and Project Director Md Humayun Kabir delivered the welcome speech, while Ziaur Rahman of WBB Trust presented the main keynote. Chief Information Officer of PID Surat Kumar Sarker, Director General of Bangladesh Television Sohrab Hossain, Chairman of ENT Department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital Prof Dr Sheikh Nurul Fattah Rumi and Muqeed Majumder Babu of Prokriti O Jibon Foundation spoke on the occasion with DoE’s Director General Md Ashraf Uddin in the chair. 

Earlier, the DoE held the training with NGO representatives on Tuesday (June 8). DoE’s Assistant Director Khandaker Mahmud Pasha presented the main keynote in Tuesday’s training programme. Director of Prime Minister’s Office Md Shahadat Hossain and Prof Mekhla Sarker of National Mental Health Institute spoke, among others with Md Ashraf Uddin in the chair.
