A mobile court of the Department of Environment in Bhola on Tuesday onducted a raid on 2 illegal brick kilns in Tajumuddin and Borhanuddin upazilas of the district.
The mobile court, run by the Department of Environment, Bhola District Office, was led by Lovely Yasmin, Executive Magistrate and Senior Assistant Secretary of the Department of Environment, Barisal Divisional Office.
On Tuesday (21 April '26), the mobile court conducted by Tajumuddin Upazila imposed a fine of 1 lakh 50 thousand taka on M/s 505 Bricks, owned by Rakib Gong, located in the Kaukhali area adjacent to Chanchra Union Parishad, for illegally running the kiln.
On the other hand, the mobile court imposed a fine of 75 thousand taka on Messrs. Nadia Bricks, owned by Barrister Mostafizur Rahman, located in the Padma Mansa area of Kunjer Hat, Borhanuddin Upazila, for the same crime.
At that time, the 505 brick kiln was demolished and destroyed with water by the fire service machine and the mobile court stopped the activities of Nadia Bricks through a bond.
A team from the Bangladesh Coast Guard South Zone, a team from the Bhola District Police and a team from the Fire Service assisted the mobile court in maintaining law and order from 11 am to 4 pm.
After the operation, Tota Mia said in the presence of local people including the owners and employees of the brick kiln, "Such operations will continue."
