The Department of Environment (DoE) conducted a campaign programme and mobile court in Gulshan-1 area in the capital on Sunday (February 26) to control noise pollution.
The campaign was conducted under the project ‘Coordinated Partnership Programme to Stop Sound Pollution’ and in collaboration with Gulshan Society,
Mohammad Mamun Mia, director of DoE (Dhaka city), Mohammad Masudur Rahman Patwari, director (admin and enforcement) and Maher Nigar, an executive magistrate of the DoE, joined the mobile court.
The mobile court warned many vehicles. However, six vehicles were fined a total of Tk 3200 for using hydraulic horns which are banned.
