The Department of Environment (DoE) has carried out an awareness campaign on noise pollution in Mohammadpur area in the city. As part of the campaign, a rally was held at Mohammadpur Bus Stand on Wednesday (August 30, 2023).
The ‘Integrated and Partnership Project on Noise Pollution Control’ project of the DoE arranged the campaign programme. Earlier, the DoE carried out such an awareness campaign in Shahbagh area in the city on August 24.
Representatives from different environmental organisations and rights bodies, including Work for a Better Bangladesh (WBB) Trust and Chhayatol Bangladesh; participated in Tuesday’s campaign programme held at Mohammadpur.
Teachers and students from various schools in the capital, including Rayerbazar High School and Dhaka Ideal Cadet School , also participated in the event.
Members of Bangladesh Police performing duty in the area extended support to make the campaign programme a success.
During the campaign, leaflets on noise pollution control were distributed among the pedestrians and drivers.
