Documents on JU VC’s corruptions to be provided

The protesters at Jahangirnagar University have been continuing their agitation for the fourth consecutive day on Friday at the closed institution demanding the removal of its vice-chancellor for her alleged corruption. At around 12:00 pm, the protesters started drawing in front of the old administrative building, in the painting the protesters paint many caricature demanding the removal of VC.

Students said they are expressing their language of protest against injustice and corruption through imagery. Through the picture, they highlighted all the irregularities including corruption of the Vice-Chancellor, voluntarism, and attacks on the protesters by the BCL. Ariful Islam Anik, general secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra Union of JU unit said, “Those painting is against the corruption and irregularities, we try to describe the corruption of VC, BCL recent attacked on protesters through those scroll painting.

Later they brought out a rally at the campus from old administrative building and terminated at new arts faculty building. Besides, agitating teachers and students will submit documents on corruption against Vice-Chancellor at the Ministry of Education and University Grants Commission (UGC) on Friday.

“We are preparing documents on the “corruptions” of JU VC Prof. Farzana Islam and it would be submit to the UGC and education minister”, said Ariful Islam Anik. Meanwhile, the General Secretary of the JU branch Chhatra League, S M Abu Sufian Chanchal has been reported to have resigned.

He submitted his resignation letter to the central office cell on Tuesday. Office Secretary of central Chhatra League, Ahsan Habib confirmed the information. However, Ahsan Habib did not confirm the reason behind the resignation. The acting secretary of the Central Chhatra League, Lekhak Bhattacharya, confirmed it.

He said that the resignation would be reported later via press release. The central leaders did not want to say why they had resigned. However, it is said that the allegation of Eid Salami of Tk 25 lakhs may be behind his resignation.
