The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) has fined two healthcare facilities in Chuadanga Tk 75,000 for storing and using expired medical supplies.
On Tuesday afternoon, a raid was conducted on clinics and diagnostic centres in the Hospital Road area of Chuadanga town.
Mamunul Hasan, Assistant Director of the directorate, said Digital Modern Diagnostic Centre was fined Tk 25,000 for storing and using expired reagents in refrigerators.
City Clinic and Diagnostic Centre was fined Tk 50,000 for storing and using expired medicines in their operation theatre, along with keeping expired fire extinguishers on the premises.
The authorities warned the institutions and advised all healthcare facilities to strictly follow medical safety and consumer protection regulations to avoid legal action in the future.
