Education and merit scholarship funds have been distributed among poor and meritorious students studying in government-recognised primary, secondary and higher secondary educational institutions in the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) area and among the children of indigent employees working in the city corporation.

DNCC Administrator Mohammad Ejaz was present at the scholarship distribution ceremony held at Gulshan Nagar Bhaban on Sunday with DNCC Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Asaduzzaman in the chair.

Speaking at the event, Mohammad Ejaz said, "To build a healthy and sustainable city, it is essential to raise the future generation as well-educated. DNCC stands by the students and will continue this support in the future as well."

He further said that DNCC is working sincerely not only for infrastructure but also for social welfare and human resource development. Providing assistance to poor and talented students is part of that. This programme will create an environment for the mental development of students. This is our commitment to provide scholarships from the very beginning.

According to the DNCC Education and Merit Scholarship Policy 2017, a total of five hundred eighty-six thousand eight hundred taka scholarships were given to sixty-nine students in various categories.

The scholarship recipients and their parents appreciated this initiative of DNCC and expressed their hope for its continuation.

Senior officials of DNCC, representatives of educational institutions, guardians and students were present at the event.
