“If we loved the country, today the field would not have been occupied, the sidewalk would not have been occupied, the canal space would not have been occupied. Those who have illegally encroached on the fields, footpaths and canal banks would like to tell them to remove their illegal encroachments. Otherwise, when the bulldozers go, the boundaries will no longer be measured by how many legitimate areas have been occupied. We will conduct the campaign. All illegal encroachments will be recovered gradually.”

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Md. Atiqul Islam said these things at the inauguration ceremony of Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Memorial Park in Gulshan on Monday.

It should be noted that Gulshan Central Park has been named "Shahid Tajuddin Ahmad Memorial Park" by Dhaka North City Corporation as a tribute to the memory of Shahid Tajuddin Ahmad, the first Prime Minister of Bangladesh, one of the founders of the great independence.

In the opening ceremony, the mayor said, 'DNCC is grateful to have named the park after Shahid Tajuddin Ahmed, one of the organizers of the great independence.

Everyone should know the history of the liberation war, the history of Bangabandhu, the history of the four national leaders. This park will play a role in preserving the memory of Shahid Tajuddin Ahmad.

At the time, he said, 'We are opening 24 parks and fields for the public. After the fields and parks were opened up, their maintenance became a challenge. Gulshan Youth Club will be entrusted with the maintenance of the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Memorial Park through an agreement.'

Highlighting surface drain and canal pollution, the mayor said, 'We went to release fish in Gulshan, Baridhara, Banani, Niketan lakes but due to water pollution we could not release fish there. Could not bring life and diversity. Because the elite people in the elite areas have directly connected the sewage line of their houses to the lake. We will start operations from January 4 against those who have lined up illegally in these areas. We have made the list and no one will get discount here.'

DNCC Mayor forbidding going to City Corporation office to pay holding tax, said, 'I request you not to go to City Corporation office to pay holding tax. Because like all Khans, there are some dishonest people in the City Corporation, they then show the general public that the sky is as much as the City Corporation.

They make it difficult for people to pay taxes. As a result they take illegal advantage. That's why you can pay City Corporation Tax online without going through that hassle. Then there will be no suffering and those who are dishonest will not be able to take any benefit. Everything is neatly provided online, from where you can pay your City Corporation Tax.'

He also said, 'We have also started giving trade licenses online. How much trouble to get a trade license. We do not want this suffering from civic service initiatives. We are conducting activities through online to ensure that citizens can do all kinds of work without suffering.

Besides, Dhaka North City Corporation will give a 10 percent discount in holding tax to those who will do rain harvesting in their homes. In addition, Dhaka North City Corporation will give concessions to those who will follow the correct rules for roof gardens, i.e. those who will not breed mosquitoes in their roof gardens, will take proper care of them and will build effective roof gardens.

Calling the city dwellers to complain about the city's problems on the Dhaka app, the mayor said, 'Wherever you see any problem in the city, you just take a picture and report the problem on the Dhaka app. We will immediately take care of it, Dhaka North City Corporation has brought Dhaka App for all citizens.
