Police continued anti-drug drive Dhaka city. As part of the drive, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in different operations in the l24 hours till 6:00 am on Thursday (September 14) arrested 60 people for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs.
On information, the DMP’s police and detective units conducted the anti-drug campaign in various areas in the city. During the operations, the law enforcers seized drugs and arrested drug sellers and abusers, said a DMP press release issued on Thursday.
The law enforcers seized 3,009 pieces of Yaba tablets, 5.995kg of hemp, 34.5gm of heroin, 36 bottles of foreign wine and 20 bottles of Phensedyl from their possessions, according to the press release.
According to the DMP press release, 39 cases were filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
Earlier, DMP in different operations in 24 hours till 6:00 am on Wednesday (September 13) arrested 42 people for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs.
During the operations, police seized 2,817 pieces of Yaba tablets, 4.698kg of hemp, 59gm of heroin and 60 bottles of Phensedyl from their possessions. A total of 33 cases were filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
The anti-drug drive of DMP has been continuing in Dhaka city for last weeks. As part of the anti-drug drive, the members of the DMP arrested over 300 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs in August.
