Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Masud Alam has been appointed as the new Superintendent of Police (SP) of Chattogram.
The Ministry of Home Affairs issued an official notification regarding the transfer and appointment on Tuesday.
Masud Alam, a native of Bogura district, came into the spotlight while serving as the Deputy Commissioner of the Ramna Division of DMP.
He served as Additional Superintendent of Police in Pabna district and also worked at the Jhenaidah camp of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-6).
Meanwhile, the current Superintendent of Police of Chattogram, Mohammad Nazir Ahmed Khan, has been transferred and appointed as SP of the Armed Police Battalion (APBn). He was appointed as the SP of Chattogram through a lottery system on November 24 last year. Earlier, he served as the Superintendent of Police of Cumilla district.
