Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 377 people and filed 41 cases during regular anti-crime operations conducted across the capital in the 24 hours until 6:00am on Tuesday.
According to the DMP, the arrests were made by different divisions of the police. The Ramna Division arrested 40 people, Lalbagh Division 26, Wari Division 55, Motijheel Division 25, Tejgaon Division 64, Mirpur Division 85, Gulshan Division 32, Uttara Division 43 and the Detective Branch (DB) seven.
During the operations, police recovered 3,030 yaba tablets, 55.23 kilograms of cannabis, 1,200 bottles of Phensedyl, one private car, two microbuses, a lock-cutting machine, six mobile phones, Tk 330 in cash and rescued one victim.
DMP Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Niaz Mehdi said the arrests were made during separate operations in different police station areas across Dhaka. He added that legal action against the arrested individuals is underway.
