From now on, nine types of forensic tests will be conducted in Rajshahi Lab. The tests include: Chemical, Ballistic, Handwriting, Finger Print, Microscopic, Foot Print and detection of the counterfeit currency.

The Chemical laboratory will test the Viscera, Narcotics, Acid tests and some more tests including drugs, viscera of dead man, bird and animal, bones, hair, soil, soft tissues exhumed from the grave, presence of poisonous and sedative materials, presence of blood in the sample, presence of blood in samples mixed with acid, explosives, combustible materials, chemicals used in making counterfeit currency and synthesis of various samples will also be conducted in the chemical lab.

A special crime scene unit has been added to the lab to collect evidence from the scene of crime. There will also be finger and foot print sections and handwriting analysis and photography sections to match prints collected and accelerate investigations. The Finger Print section will find out similarities or dissimilarities  of the collected finger prints from the crime scenes with the fingerprints preserved in AFIS Database.

Sources informed, the court directs the CID to reveal the mystery of various, sensitive, clueless cases. To unveil the mystery, CID officials so far needed to visit Dhaka with the samples and it would also take a long time to get the report of the tests.
