Discussion, prayer session held in Bogura

Various programmes were held in Bogura to mark the 56th birth anniversary of Arafat Rahman Koko, the younger son of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, and younger brother of BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman. On Tuesday afternoon, a discussion meeting, prayer session, and charity events were organised at Zia Bari in Bagbari, Gabtali. The UK branch of the Arafat Rahman Koko Memorial Society arranged financial donations to 17 religious institutions, food distribution among orphans, and a doa mahfil.

The discussion meeting was presided over by BNP Chairperson’s Adviser and Senior Vice-President of the Central Committee of Krishak Dal, former MP Helaluzzaman Talukder Lalu. Bogura District BNP President Rezaul Karim Badsha attended as chief guest.

Among the special guests were former MP and Acting General Secretary of District BNP Mosharraf Hossain, Vice-President M.R. Islam Swadhin, former DAB President Dr. Shah Md. Shahjahan Ali, former Mayor Saiful Islam, Gabtali BNP leader Abdur Rahim Pintu, and Arifur Rahman Mojnu of the Upazila Jubo Dal.

Engineer Md. Rokon Talukder conducted the event. The life and work of Arafat Rahman Koko were discussed, followed by prayers for his departed soul.
