Jhanjira Samaj Kalyan Songstha (JSKS), a social welfare organization, arranged a discussion over Covid-19 awareness at the conference of Dinajpur Upazila Parishad on Sunday (January 31).
The JSKS organized the event in collaboration with European and Helvetas, Inter Co-operation German organization with CSOPVE Capacity Building in Bangladesh and Shri Planning.
Upazila Social Service Officer Md Asaduzzaman Asad delivered the keynote address with JSKS Executive Director Mostafa Kamal in the chair. Upazila Youth Development Officer Mamun Hasan Chowdhury spoke as the special guest. Rupantar Rangpur Divisional Coordinator Md. Mostafizur Rahman presented about the project. Executive Director of Mamata Palli Unnayan Sangstha Md. Yaqub Ali, Journalist Kashi Kumar Das, Executive Director of SUPK Md. Mozaffar Hossain, Field Supervisor of Islami Foundation Md Meher Ali spoke there. Umme Nahar, CDF Executive Director Selina Haque, Rural Development Efforts Executive Director Farida Begum and Program Coordinator Morzina Rupa also spoke.
Chief Guest Upazila Social Service Officer Md. Asaduzzaman Asad said that in the second phase of Covid-19, it is necessary to ensure the wearing of masks, especially in mosques, temples, churches and other religious institutions. Everyone should be made aware of the use of masks, he added.
He also said that everyone has to follow the rules of health and social distance. “We don't want a single person to die. We have to be careful,” he said.
