A discussion on the ‘Nutrition for the elderly people’ on the occasion of the National Nutrition Week- 2023 was held at the conference room of the Civil Surgeon under the auspices of the Public Health Nutrition Institution (PHNI) on Tuesday.
The function chaired by Superintendent of Manikganj 250-beded Hospital Dr. Mohammad Bahauddin was addressed, among others by, Dr. M R Parvej, Social Service Officer Md. Niaz Morshed and former District Education Officer (DEO) Md. Abdul Monnaf Khan.
The speakers said nutritious food is essential for healthy living specially for the growing up of babies and for the elderly people. Nutritious foods help to keep a man of all ages free from many kinds of diseases. The speakers also said the elderly people of the society should be considered as the asset of the families and for the society as they had served for a long time for building a prosperous nation.
