A discussion was held on Thursday in Faridpur on the occasion of International Day for Rural Women arranged by a private organization called BFF.
The discussion titled ‘Inclusion of Rural Women Farmers in Government Agricultural Services and Bank Loan Access and Existing Barriers’ was held at SDC Tower in Alipur area of the district town at 11:00am in the day. The discussion was presided over by Masuda Begum, member of BFF executive committee.
Additional Deputy Director of Faridpur Department of Agricultural Extension, Md Rokibul Islam, spoke as the chief guest at the discussion.
Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Md Anwar Hussain, Social Service Officer SM Sujauddallah Rashed, Programme Officer of Faridpur Department of Women Affairs MA Nahar and Adviser of FDA Md Azharul Islam attended the discussion ad special guests.
The speakers said women play a critical role in agriculture. But they don’t get loan on easy terms. So separate policy needs to be made for them.
