Chittagong's Banshkhali Upazila Awami League, Juba League, Chhatra League and its affiliates have organized a discussion meeting to protest the assassination attempt on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in a grenade attack on August 21 and to commemorate the martyrs.
Upazila Awami League office secretary and Sadhanpur UP chairman Mohiuddin Chowdhury Khoka presided over the discussion held at the Upazila Awami League office on Saturday afternoon. Mostafizur Rahman Chowdhury, Member of Parliament for Chittagong-17 constituency was present as the chief guest. Kalipur UP Chairman Advocate ANM Shahadat Alam, Saral UP Chairman Rashid Ahmad Chowdhury, Chambal UP Chairman Mujibul Haque Chowdhury, Bailchhari UP Chairman Kafil Uddin, Shekharkhil UP Chairman Yasin, Khankhanabad UP Chairman Badruddin Chowdhury, Joint Convener of Municipality Awami League Advocate SM Tofail bin Hossain and Hamid Ullah, the convener of the municipality Juba League and other leaders were also present at the discussion.
The speakers said, "Jamaat-BNP carried out the grenade attack on August 21 with the aim of ensuring Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina forever." But by the infinite mercy of Allah, their attempt did not succeed. The members of this Jamaat Shibir and BNP Syndicate are still trying to thwart the various developmental activities of the present government. That is why the grassroots leaders and activists have to unite and deal with their conspiracies. '
