Discussion on August 21 grenade attack held in Rajbari

A discussion was held on Friday remembering the victims of the gruesome grenade attacks at an AL rally at Bangabandhu Avenue in Dhaka on August 21, 2004.

Awami League’s Rajbari district unit organized the event at its party office.

Marking the day, the party and the national flags were hoisted, floral wreaths were placed at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and the portrait of Ivy Rahman, former Awami League women's affairs secretary.

Speakers at the event said the assassination attempts were carried out to annihilate the AL’ leadership including its president Sheikh Hasina but it failed. 

They urged people to work together in order to strengthen the Sheikh Hasina-led AL government to continue the development activities.

Presided over by Rajbari district AL co-president Hedayet Ali Sohrab, unit Publicity Secretary Ed Shafiqul Hossain conducted the progamme

District AL general secretary Kazi Iradat Ali attended the programme as chief guest while Shafiqul Azam Mamun, Rafiqul Islam, Municipal Awami League President Ad Wazir Ali Sheikh, General Secretary. Shafiqul Islam (Shafi), Upazila Awami League general secretary and Ohiduzzaman Sheikh were present.
