Discussion held to protect biodiversity in Natore

Rajshahi Wildlife Management and Conservation Department organized a public awareness meeting on conservation of migratory birds and biodiversity at Gurudaspur in Natore on Wednesday. The meeting was held at the Upazila Parishad auditorium on Wednesday morning.

Divisional Forest Officer of Rajshahi Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation Md Zillur Rahman was present as the chief guest in the presidency of Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Tamal Hossain. Gurudaspur Upazila Mahila Vice Chairman Roxana Akhter, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Abu Russell, Wildlife Inspector Jahangir Kabir, Warlife Ranger Helim Raihan, Daily Prothom Alo correspondent Anisur Rahman, Daily Jugantar correspondent Dil Mohammad, Gurudaspur Model Press Club President Lecturer Majem Ali Malin, Daily Amar Sangbad Correspondent Abdus Salam, Principal Saidul Islam, Lecturer Nasrin Sultana, Dr. Sanchita Rani, Biodiversity Protection Committee Organizing Secretary Mizanur Rahman, Athlete Palan Ghosh, Sohail Rana , Environmentalists and many more were present at the discussion.

During the discussion, the speakers discussed various issues related to the conservation of migratory birds and biodiversity. Nazmul Hasan, General Secretary of Gurudaspur Biodiversity Conservation Committee was present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tamal Hossain said that people are destroying the environment for their own needs, and by doing that are also destroying their habitat. People need to raise awareness about this. In order to conserve biodiversity, human behavior must be animal friendly.
