The 13th death anniversary of Dr MA Wazed Miah, husband of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the eldest son-in-law of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and an internationally renowned scientist, has been observed. On Monday (May 9) afternoon, a discussion meeting and prayer meeting was organized on the occasion of the day.
Ishwardi Upazila Awami League and Juba League observed the day in separate arrangements at the Juba League office at the corner of Awami League and Post Office on Station Road in the city after Asr prayers on Monday afternoon. Nuruzzaman Biswas, Member of Parliament for Pabna-4 constituency was the chief guest at the discussion meeting and prayer mahfil organized at the Awami League office. Among others, Upazila Awami League President and Upazila Chairman Naib Ali Biswas, Vice President Mohammad Rashidullah, Municipal Mayor and Municipal Awami League General Secretary Ishaq Ali Malitha, Vice President Abdul Khaleq, Ataur Rahman Babu Fakir, Awami League leader Bashir Ahmed Bakul, Upazila A ' League Joint General Secretary Abdus Salam Khan, Murad Ali Malitha, Upazila Krishak League convener Fazlur Rahman Malitha, Labor League leader Jahangir Alam and other Awami League leaders were present. Upazila Awami League general secretary Abul Kalam Azad Mintu was present at the discussion. At the end, prayers were offered for the forgiveness of Dr Wazed Miah's soul. Imam Mufti Oliullah of Ishwardi Central Jame Mosque prayed.
Meanwhile, Ishwardi Upazila and Municipal Branch of Juba League organized a discussion meeting and prayer mahfil in the voice of Dr MA Wazed Miah at the Upazila Juba League office at the corner of Post Office on the same day. At the end of the meeting, the late nuclear scientist said. Wazed Miah's soul is prayed for forgiveness. Juba League Upazila Branch President Shirhan Sharif Tamal, Municipal Juba League President Alauddin Biplob, General Secretary Ariful Islam Liton, Juba League Leader Imtiaz Chowdhury Milon, Upazila Chhatra League President Mallik Milon Mahmud Tanmoy, General Secretary Khandaker Arman, Municipal Chhatra League President Abir Hossain Shaish. Leaders and activists of different levels of Juba League and Chhatra League including Maruf Hossain were present.
