Discount offers attract visitors at the DITF

Stalls and pavilions at the 25nd International Trade Fair (DITF) passing busy hours as a huge number of visitors, with families and friends, thronged the venue almost every day in the week.

The number of visitors is increasing every comparing to the previous days specially because of attractive discounts offered by many of the stall owners at the fair  because only a few days of the fair are left.

Traders and shopkeepers said the fair was getting momentum from this week compared to last week. Clothes, plastic items, home appliance, electronic items were on the priority list of the customers, they said.

Santa Islam, sales executive of 'Nirjona Bostro Bitan' a stall of female garment wears said the presence of customer is good and she expects the crowd will increase in the coming days as many of the city dwellers wait to visit the fair in the last week, targetting to enjoy the discounts on various products.

 ‘Last year we received some orders; we hope this year we will receive more orders," she said.

"We can usually sell 15-20 blazers a day, but today (Sunday) we have already sold 50 coats till afternoon and hope this will increase till night," said Mohammad Jahid, manager of King Fashion.

Crowd was also found at Mukta Pavilion, run by differently able people. 

“We are selling plastic food grade and oven-proof items along with Mukta drinking water. The number of buyers is increasing. So is our sale,” said Saiful Islam, manager of the stall.

Meanwhile some consumers complained about the high price of food and clothes items at the fair.

From this week most visitors are coming to buy products but they at the early stage visited only for visiting and seeing the products.

An attendant at the Walton Pavillion told Bangladesh Post that their products are aimed at middle-income people. 

The 25th edition of DITF 2020 began on January 1 at Agargaon in Dhaka. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the fair.

According to the Export Promotion Bureau, there are 483 stalls of different organizations from 21 countries including Bangladesh this year.
