Disadvantaged women fight unemployment

When the under privileged and disadvantaged women were passing their days in uncertain having no employment opportunity at any suitable place, jatiya mahila Sangstha in Jhenaidah have been showing ray of hope before them.

The organization has been providing them skill development training on beautician, cooking, sewing, handicrafts, block-boutiques, fashion designing small loan assistance, legal aid some other assistance to make the women self-helped. There are a number of women who are academically sound. Dipti Rahan, a social worker has been leading the organization in Jhenaidah.

Sharmin Akter, 27, of Adarshapara in Jhenaidah town, a mother of a boy child while contacted at the training centre of Jatiya Mahila Sangstha in Jhenaidah said she had completed graduation while passing hard days as her husband was jobless. She enrolled her name with the organization about three months back. She is provided training on sewing, handicrafts, block-boutiques, fashion designing.

The four-month training course will help her to make any dress for the women and children and furnish fashion design. 

It will ensure handsome money for her family on a regular basis .She was informed that there was potential for the dress making, fashion designing and other works in local town as well as other areas. 

Housewife Muslima Khatun, 35, of Bakultala in the town when contacted said she was in misery with her two schoolchildren as she lost her small trader husband seven years back. She was encouraged to get admitted in the training course with the advised of its chairman Dipti Rahman and receiving training on sewing, embroidery, dress and wall mat making. She was hopeful to lead her family as each and every activity ensures money now a days in any district level town.

She was determined to take the work as her profession. Her work will make her children educated and good citizens, the women said with confidence. 

Jatiya mahila Sangstha trainer Kohinoor Begum while providing training to a number of under privileged and disadvantaged women at her centre said she was impressed when each and every trainee was attentive to receive the training.  She was hopeful they will be established in the   society and run their respective families well with the training they mean it was resources for them. 

Dipti Rahman, chairman of jatiya mahila Sangstha in Jhenaidah when contacted said she took the responsibility of the organization in 2020 as its seventh chairman. As the organization head as well as her social commitment, she has been rendering services for the wellbeing of the deprived women community as most of them was either divorcee, or deprived from the rights in family and society.

The skill development training will make the women community self-helped and earn their breads themselves. It will strengthen their socio-economic state obviously, Rahman said.

The office head said they have been providing training on beautician, cooking, handicrafts, sewing, block and boutique, fashion designing, business management and investment and computer. Jatiya Mahila Sangstha running legal aid, lowest interest small scale loan, tathyaseba services through courtyard meeting.

In 2022 they had provided sewing and embroidery training to 90, computer training to 100 and block-boutique and screen print to 50 other women. Two of the destitute women were given legal battle facilities from the organization. 

Jatiya mahila Sangstha Jhenaidah unit will play significant role in establishing women rights and make the unemployed women self-reliant within a few years, Dipti Rahamn expressed with boldness.
