The third solo art exhibition of versatile artist Mahmudur Rahman Dipon, titled ‘The Moments’, opened Thursday evening at Bhumi Gallery in Lalmatia, drawing art lovers, cultural personalities, and well-wishers to witness his latest visual creations. The exhibition will remain open for visitors at Bhumi Gallery till July 15, 2025.
The event was inaugurated by noted artist and Professor Emeritus Rafiqun Nabi, with popular actress Jaya Ahsan attending as the special guest. Both guests shared heartfelt remarks about Dipon’s
artistic journey and his evolving works.
Speaking at the ceremony, Rafiqun Nabi praised Dipon’s remarkable skill, especially highlighting his charcoal drawings for their depth and mastery. He also expressed hope to see more from Dipon in future exhibitions. Jaya Ahsan, an admirer of Dipon’s art, voiced her appreciation for his unique style and reaffirmed her support for his creative endeavors.
The exhibition features a diverse collection of artworks — from large abstract acrylic paintings to delicate watercolors, dry pastel pieces, and bold charcoal drawings. Dipon’s acrylic works, with their dark, mystic tones, create an almost otherworldly atmosphere, while his watercolors capture serene natural landscapes like beaches and villages with a soft, tranquil touch.
The artist’s charcoal works drew particular attention for their bold lines and fine blending, evoking strong emotions and inviting personal interpretations. Meanwhile, his pastel artworks stand out for their vibrant neon shades and geometric forms, offering a dramatic contrast.
Visitors to the exhibition described ‘The Moments’ as a deeply emotional and visual experience that engages both the mind and soul.
